2009 Martin Luther King Jr. Award recipients will be honored Jan. 22
The following UO employees have received the 2009 Martin Luther King Jr. Award: Lois Yoshishige, business affairs; Milagro Vargas, music and dance; Peggy Pascoe, history and ethnic studies; Shawn Fincher, athletics; and Michael Dreiling, sociology.
The recipients will be honored by President Dave Frohnmayer during a reception from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22, in the Gerlinger Lounge. The award is given to those who represent and uphold the ideals supported by King, such as demonstrating moral courage, promoting social justice and embodying a humanitarian spirit.
The awards are given by the Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity, in collaboration with the human resources department.
