Board of Trustees Executive and Audit Committee to meet Sept. 24

The Executive and Audit Committee of the Board of Trustees of the University of Oregon will convene for a second time this month. The committee will meet at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24.The group will focus on expansion of faculty representation on the Presidential Search Advisory Group. Pursuant to the UO’s bylaws, the committee will meet via teleconference; the public is able to listen to the meeting in Room 402 of the Ford Alumni Center.

While the advisory group’s members have not yet been appointed, the group will ultimately be comprised of members from key UO stakeholders, ensuring broad representation in the presidential search process. The advisory group will aid the Presidential Search Committee throughout the process of recruiting candidates to be the UO’s next president.

The Executive and Audit Committee is meeting to increase the number of people allowed on the Advisory Group to create room for additional faculty representation. This action comes after consultation with faculty groups.

The EAC is charged with considering matters pertaining to general management of the board, as well as matters pertaining to audits, compliance and risk management. It is authorized to act on behalf of the Board of Trustees when necessary and appropriate.
