Campus buildings, services shift to reduced summer hours

The pace of campus slows considerably just before and during summer term, but it is mostly business as usual. Expect to see some locations offer shorter hours and to find maintenance work going on.

Summer term classes begin Monday, June 26. The week prior to that, June 19-23, is sometimes referred to as “zero week.”

Campus Planning and Facilities has a roofing project this summer at the Student Recreation Center that will result in sidewalk closures and building access detours. Visit the blog to learn about other projects or check this handy map.

Although more parking spaces will be available as a result of students and some faculty being away, all campus lots will be patrolled as usual.

The Student Recreation Center will be closed June 24-25. Please refer to the website for a complete list of hours.

The Health Center has reduced zero week hours of 9 a.m. to 1 p.m during the week before summer term. During summer session it will be open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. but closed weekends and July 4.

The Knight Library has reduced hours and will be closed on Saturday, June 24. Refer to the website for hours at the branches including law, Price Science Commons and others.

Safe Ride is closed June 19-23 and open during summer session with reduced hours of Sunday-Thursday, 9 p.m. to midnight and Friday-Saturday, 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.

The Erb Memorial Union will be open Tuesday-Friday of zero week from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed Sunday, June 25. Summer session hours are Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. until Aug. 18. After that until the Week of Welcome, the EMU is closed weekends with weekday hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

ID Card Services will be open regular hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Those who still need to pick up the new card can do so; old ID cards were deactivated May 1.

The Campus Copy Center has regular hours during Zero Week and then reduced summer hours 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The EMU Computing Lab has reduced zero week hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Summer Session hours will be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, closed July 4.

Restaurants, campus dining and the satellite cafes are operating on reduced hours. 

The Duck Store hours throughout the summer and into the beginning of fall term will be 7:45 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 7:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The store will be closed July 4 but open on Labor Day.
