Consider alternate travel plans for move-in day

From Gwen Bolden, director of parking and transportation, and Michael Griffel, director of university housing:

This Thursday, Sept. 25, more than 3,000 students from all across the globe will move into the residence halls and begin their UO experience. We hope that you will help us welcome our new and returning students and their families who will be checking in this day.

We want to advise you that this will heavily impact traffic and parking, particularly in campus areas east of University Street. All members of the university community are encouraged to use alternative transportation on Sept. 25.

To download a PDF map showing move-in traffic and parking directions for incoming students, go to http://housing.uoregon.edu/hou-includes/documents/maps/UOHousing_Move-in_Map_2014-15.pdf

Also, there's still time to roll up your sleeves and help move in our new students and their families as an Unpack the Quack volunteer.

Thanks to everyone in our university community for your efforts in welcoming a new class of students to our UO family.
