A couple minutes with … John Postlethwait
“A couple minutes with…” features John Postlethwait, UO professor of biology ... and marathoner of worldly proportions.
Postlethwait has run dozens of marathons across the U.S. since taking up running several years ago with colleagues at the UO. But he also holds a unique distinction: he has run at least one marathon on each continent. He even went so far as to organize a marathon – twice – on Antarctica.
Is there someone on campus we should spend a couple minutes with? Send an e-mail to Inside Oregon editor Joe Mosley.
Our aim is to get past people’s roles at the University of Oregon, and focus on the personal interests that make them stand out. Do we have a rodeo clown on campus? A world-class triathlete? How about a blue water sailor, or a blue ribbon baker? It it catches your interest, share it.
Maybe the person’s story will make you say, “Amazing!” Or maybe you’ll be thinking, “Dang!”
