Couple's gift will help music students cross from LCC to UO

A couple in tune with the needs of music students has made a $125,000 gift to the UO School of Music and Dance to help support students transferring from Lane Community College.

Niles and Mary Ann Hanson want to provide a bridge for students making the transition from a two-year music program to the UO. The couple, prominent arts supporters in the Eugene area, created the Niles and Mary Ann Hanson Scholarship in Music to help ease that path.

Read about the gift on the SOMD website. The scholarship will provide $25,000 per year for music students moving from LCC to the UO. The couple also fund music scholarships at LCC.
