Deadline approaching for annual EMU art contest

Artists are encouraged to submit their work by March 25 – or by April 5, if delivered in person – to be considered for the UO's Erb Memorial Union annual art acquisition program.

The program, known as the Pacific Northwest Art Annual, is presented by the EMU Cultural Forum. The piece that earns "Best in Show" honors will be purchased and become part of the EMU's permanent art collection.

The EMU established its art acquisition program in 1960 to purchase works in various media and created by Pacific Northwest artists. The EMU displays visual art in the Adell McMillan, Buzz and Aperture galleries.

Artists interested in entering the Pacific Northwest Art Annual must be residents of Northern California, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, Alaska, Idaho or Montana. Submitted work must have been completed within the past five years  and no more than three pieces may be submitted by each artist.

Two-dimensional and three-dimensional works are accepted, with a maximum size of three feet cubed.

Specific entry information is available on the Cultural Forum website.
