Ducks prepare to go “green” with Ecochallenge
Leave your car home for a day. Turn off the lights when not in use. Be a vegetarian for the week.
Those are just some of the ways you can make a difference during the annual UO Ecochallenge, which coincides with Earth Week, April 16 to April 22.
During the Ecochallenge, UO faculty, staff and students will engage in hundreds of earth-friendly activities. Participation is simple – it takes just minutes to registerand select from dozens of simple actions you can take during Earth Week.
You can customize your selection to fit your lifestyle. By committing to an Ecochallenge, you’ll find out how to reduce your impact, create lasting new habits and hopefully open up dialogues about sustainability at the UO – and with your family and friends.
Visit http://uoecochallenge.org/to sign up and select the changes you want to make. Then visit again during Earth Week to report on the progress and see how others are succeeding.
The Ecochallenge event is intended as a means of creating a community of people who are taking action on behalf of future generations.
