Expanded benefits announced for unrepresented faculty, OAs

Unrepresented faculty and officers of administration soon will enjoy more generous family leave benefits and be able to send a second child to the UO at a discount.

President Michael Gottfredson on Tuesday announced plans to enact the new benefits as well as expanded sabbatical compensation for faculty. The changes will take effect July 1.

In announcing the plan, Gottfredson thanked all the employees of the university for “all that you do to make the University of Oregon a premier public research university and a wonderful place to work and learn.”

Details about the new benefits are listed below:

Represented faculty negotiated similar benefits last fall. Classified employee benefits are negotiated under a separate collective bargaining agreement.

The university is taking written comment on the plan at comments@uoregon.edu until June 4.People also can provide input in person on Tuesday, June 3, at 3:30 p.m. in Room 203, Condon Hall.
