Interim leadership named in key university positions

Jane Gordon has been named the interim vice provost for UO programs in Portland and Jim Terborg will become interim dean of Lundquist College of Business.

Wendy Larson, the current vice provost for Portland programs is retiring this month. Kees de Kluyver, dean of the Lundquist College of Business will step down in September.

Both Terborg and Gordon have held numerous leadership positions during their long tenure with the UO.

Terborg is currently a senior associate dean for faculty affairs at the business school and academic director of the Warsaw Sports Marketing Center. During his time at UO, he has held leadership positions as chair of the Department of Management, director of the Institute of Industrial Relations and academic director for Oregon Executive MBA Program. He was the Carolyn Chambers Professor of Management from 1989 to 2013.

“I have spent 35 years at the UO and have a strong affinity for the college,” Terborg said. “I am humbled by the support given to me by many of you to become interim dean. The LCB has a great building and strong academic programs, but the best thing about this place is the people.”

Gordon is currently a senior project leader for the Office of Academic Affairs, working on faculty union contracts and shared governance policy implementation. She spent more than 25 years in leadership positions in the School of Law, building and leading the Appropriate Dispute Resolution Center and serving as associate dean for student and program affairs.

"I am delighted to be part of UO’s evolving engagement in Portland,” Gordon said. “I look forward to building upon the momentum of our excellent Portland programs and working closely with academic leadership, faculty, alumni, the Portland community and the UO Portland Council to collaboratively partner for even greater success."
