Law school photography exhibit attracts newspaper review

Dozens of nature photographs by Mark Reid are hanging in the UO School of Law, where they have caught the attention of more than students and faculty.

A story on the large exhibit appeared Thursday, Aug. 28, in The Register-Guard, offering some background to go with the large images of flowers, plants, rivers and landscapes. The exhibit, on the second-floor mezzanine gallery, will run through Jan. 2.

Emeritus law professor Dominick Vetri told the paper he organized the exhibit after seeing Reid’s work at a show in Portland. Vetri said he’s been arranging art exhibits at the school for 11 years as a way of making better use of the expanses of blank walls in the Knight Law Center.

The show is titled "Natural Elements" and is dedicated to Eugene jewelry artist Carol Westlake, a friend of Reid's who died in 2008.

A reception for Reid will be held today (Aug. 28) from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
