More than 1,500 claimed free tickets to the UO-ASU game

Forty different campus units claimed 1,795 free tickets for the men’s basketball game against Arizona State, which marked the second year in a row the athletics department offered free faculty and staff admission to a Ducks game.

With the men’s basketball team ranked in the top 25 the entire season, tickets have been at a premium. Men’s basketball is on pace to have its highest attendance since 1979.

“We were very excited to offer complimentary tickets to the Oregon-Arizona State game as part of a Faculty/Staff Appreciation Night,” said Craig Pintens, senior associate athletics director for marketing and public relations. “We do not normally offer free admission to men’s basketball, but this is important for us to express our appreciation for the campus community.”
