President's Oregon Commitment draws wide media attention

President Michael Schill’s announcement of a $17 million effort to raise the UO’s four-year graduation rate turned into a national story, picked up by newspapers and news websites across the county.

A story by the Associated Press was picked up by The Seattle Times, The San Francisco Chronicle, The Houston Chronicle and Oregon Public Broadcasting, among many others.

The plan, known as the Oregon Commitment, also was the subject of a story and an editorial in The Register-Guard and was covered by The Oregonian, the Portland Business Journal and the College Fix website.

Stories also appeared on public radio station KLCC and television stations KMTR, KVAL, KEZI and KDRV.
