Recycling effort collects more than 15,000 pounds

The CommUniversity Chuck It for Charity off-campus move out service at the end of spring term collected more than 15,000 pounds of recyclable items. The UO partnered with NextStep Recycling and delivered materials (e.g. clothing, furniture, appliances, etc.) to St. Vincent De Paul, the Arc of Lane County and community supported shelters.

Among items collected were approximately 50 couches from surrounding campus neighborhoods. The recycling effort is part of the UO’s efforts to strengthen relationships with the City of Eugene and to encourage students to be good neighbors.
