Retirement plan information offered through university group

Oregon Public Universities Retirement Plans oversees and administers employee retirement plans offered by Oregon universities. In addition to its administrative responsibilities, OPURP offers information and resources for university employees to understand and assess retirement plan options.

“The benefits office remains a primary resource for individual questions related to plan participation and enrollment,” said Gay Lynn Bath, director of the retirement plans team, “but the (retirement plans) website and our newsletters are helpful resources employees can use to better understand their options and plan for retirement.”

In addition to resources on the retirement plans website, the group’s administration team produces quarterly newsletters to update and educate participants on plan provisions and provide tips and tools for optimizing retirement savings for all age groups and salary levels.

Access to the current newsletter as well as past issues is available on the retirement plans newsletter webpage. The latest edition, Summer 2017, is now available on the website and includes topics on:

  • Changes for purchase of service for Public Employees Retirement System members
  • Optional Retirement Plan contribution rate changes
  • The Finish Line and PERS Individual Account Program choices
  • The basics of TIAA traditional annuities
  • Fidelity participant sessions
