Soccer Raises $2,000 for Susan G. Komen Foundation

The Oregon women’s soccer team raised a total of $2,000 for the Susan G. Komen Oregon and Southwest Washington Foundation during the week of Oct. 6-12.

The members of the soccer team began the week by sending out letters to family and friends inviting them to the “Kick for a Cure” Pink Game on Oct. 12 against Colorado. In addition to the invite, members of the program also made their family and friends aware of the ways they could benefit the Susan G. Komen Oregon and Southwest Washington Foundation.

Oregon soccer and the athletics equipment department donated special items and equipment that were auctioned off during the game through a silent auction. Fans that were unable to attend the game were able to bid on three Oregon soccer pink jerseys throughout the week via an online auction.

After the game and week had concluded, the soccer team had raised $2,000. $500 was raised through the silent auction at the game, $600 came through the pink jersey online auction and $900 was raised by Oregon soccer family and friends who generously made donations through the mail.

Interested fans who still wish to make a donation may do so at http://komenoregon.org/.
