Two finalists named for university ombuds

A search committee has named two finalists for the position of university ombudsperson.  Candidates are visiting campus this month, and all interested faculty, staff, and students are invited to attend the public presentation of both candidates.

The first candidate, Brett Elizabeth Harris, visited campus on Friday, June 10 and made a public presentation. A video of the presentation will be posted once it is available. Candidate materials are available on the Office of the President website. People may provide feedback on the candidate using this form.

A second candidate is scheduled to visit on Friday June 24. Additional information about the visit and the candidate will be made available on the Office of the President website and on Around the O prior to the visit.

The university ombudsperson is a designated neutral and impartial dispute resolution practitioner whose major function is to provide confidential and informal assistance to university students, staff, faculty and administrators. The ombudsperson is not an advocate for any individual or for the university, but rather acts as an advocate for fairness and healthy campus conflict resolution.
