University announces annual increases for faculty, OAs

Provost Scott Coltrane sent a message to faculty members and Vice President for Finance and Administration and CFO Jamie Moffitt sent messages to officers of administration Sept. 27 notifying them of the salary increases that will take effect Jan. 1.

The memos said that the 2017 salary increases for eligible faculty and OAs will include both a 0.75 percent across-the-board increase as well as a 2.25 percent available merit pool. Additional details about the salary increase process for both faculty and OAs are available on the human resources website: FY17 salary increase overview.

Last year, the university transitioned its annual faculty and OA salary increase cycle from the beginning of each fiscal year in July to the beginning of each calendar year in January. Coltrane and Moffitt said with this change, faculty and OAs received their last salary increase in January 2016.

Based on the new cycle, the next opportunity for a salary increase is the start of the coming calendar year, which is this January. The university expects that the Jan. 1 increase cycle will continue in future years.

Faculty and OAs who have questions should contact human resources by email at hrinfo@uoregon.edu or call 541-346-3159.

Classified employee salary increases are governed by the UO/SEIU collective bargaining agreement and will not be affected.
