UO adds Parkmobile web-based parking payment option

This fall, the University of Oregon is adding a new, easy way to park on campus safely and avoid parking tickets, a program that has special advantages for drivers with disabilities.

Parkmobile allows drivers to pay for parking at UO meters through a free mobile app, the web or by phone. Users can set alerts to be notified when parking meters are about to expire, add time to a meter remotely and even find their cars if they forget exactly where they parked.

Parkmobile is available for free download from Apple’s App Store, Google Play or the Windows Store. Users can also call Parkmobile toll-free at 1-877-727-5832 when at a Parkmobile-signed space to pay by phone (to save time, users should create an account by web, app or phone before calling to pay the first time).

The service is available now and can be used at any UO-managed parking meter. The UO primarily manages the meters on University Street between East 13th and East 18th avenues, in front of Carson Hall and Oregon Hall, and next to Lawrence Hall in Lot 12A off Franklin Boulevard.

Meters on Agate Street, areas east of Agate Street, on East 18th Avenue and in other areas bordering campus are managed by the city of Eugene and are not part of the Parkmobile program. Parkmobile-enabled meters can be identified by a sign or sticker in the areas where coverage is available.

Drivers with disabilities may use Parkmobile at ADA-signed spaces in UO permit-only or pay-to-park lots. These drivers can pay from their vehicles by app or phone and don’t need to physically visit the pay kiosk, or they can visit the parking and transportation office for a permit. And with Parkmobile, those drivers can pay for only the time they plan to use the ADA space, rather than getting a permit for a full day.

Drivers with disabilities (students, employees or visitors) who park in ADA spaces in UO permit-only lots must have both a state-issued disabled parking placard and a current UO-issued parking permit (either a hang tag or single-use visitor’s pass) or pay for the space through Parkmobile. Drivers with disabilities may also park at UO-owned parking meters by displaying the state-issued disabled parking placard for the duration of the meter (maximum time is posted on each meter).

Visit the parking and transportation website for parking maps, permit purchases and information on ADA parking on campus.
