UO community can join in Celebration parade
Here’s your chance to make a splash on the streets of downtown Eugene.
The University of Oregon is once again participating in the Eugene Celebration Parade on Saturday, Aug. 25. The UO’s walking entry will consist of faculty, staff, students and families. New UO President Michael Gottfredson will participate and the Duck will also join the festivities.
University staff, faculty and families are invited to participate. Be prepared to walk or push a stroller – maybe pull a wagon full of children? – for the entire mile-plus route. Participants must be available from 9 a.m. to noon and some will be asked to carry signs and banners. Everyone who participates will wear – and keep – a special UO/Eugene Celebration T-shirt!
If you’d like to join the fun, contact Karen Hyatt, 6-5351, khyatt@uoregon.edu, before Friday, Aug. 17 with the names of children and adults participating and contact e-mail and phone number.
Participation is limited so respond soon. Participants will receive final confirmation the week before the celebration.
