The University of Oregon is helping turn trash into togs and saving old clothes from the landfill as part of its effort to keep campus green.
Two recent additions to the university's sustainability portfolio are the introduction of branded clothing made from discarded plastic soda bottles and the conversion of castoff uniforms into rags used by campus repair shops. Both are part of the ongoing efforts to reduce, reuse and recyle.
Made from recycled soda bottles, the shirts also help raise money for other sustainability projects on the UO campus
