Women's History Month starts with film, panel discussion

In celebration of Women’s History Month in March, the UO Division of Equity and Inclusion is hosting a special program, “Yes We Can!” on Monday, March 6, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Ford Alumni Center ballroom.

The program includes a viewing of stories from the film “Girl Rising,” an Emmy-nominated documentary directed by Richard E. Robbins. The film sheds light on the role education plays in breaking the cycle of poverty.

A panel discussion on the challenges girls and women face in Oregon and at the UO will follow. The panel includes people with perspectives from “Girl Rising,” the Women’s Foundation of Oregon, UO faculty, undergraduate students and graduate students.

The event is free and open to the public. Reservations are requested.
