UO one of nation's top producers of Gilman scholars

The University of Oregon has tied for sixth nationally for its number of Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship recipients for spring 2013 awards that were announced this week.

A total of 2,300 scholarships were awarded this year, and the UO was one of five universities or colleges that produced 10 recipients each.

Seven from UO named American Mathematical Society fellows

Seven University of Oregon professors are among the inaugural 2013 class of 1,119 fellows chosen by the American Mathematical Society. The selected fellows will be officially recognized during the annual Joint Mathematics Meetings, Jan. 9-12, in San Diego.
