Longtime University of Oregon supporters will be honored Friday night at the annual Pioneer Awards Gala at the Nines Hotel in Portland.

Charles and Gwendolyn Lillis are loyal Ducks and have been active UO volunteers and supporters. They received the UO Presidential Medal in 2001 and their leadership gifts made construction of the Lillis Business Complex possible.

“Speaking Between,” an exhibition featuring work by 13 University of Oregon Department of Art MFA students, opens with a free public reception from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, May 3, at the Disjecta Interdisciplinary Art Center, 8371 N. Interstate Ave. in Portland. The exhibition will be on view through May 26.

Veteran broadcaster Charles Jaco – who has covered wars, natural disasters and politics for NBC, CNN, CBS and Fox – will visit the University of Oregon-Portland on April 25 to present the School of Journalism and Communication's annual Johnston Lecture.
