Literature and the black plague to be explored in Insight Seminar

Marc Schachter, professor of romance languages at the University of Oregon, will offer a half-day seminar entitled “Playing Through the Black Plague” on Saturday, March 9.

The seminar runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Knight Library’s Browsing Room. The fee is $45, and registration is required.

UO Insight Seminars – a program offered by the UO Libraries – were established in 2003 to provide an opportunity for the general public to re-engage with the liberal arts and the intellectual fulfillment of a university education.

The seminars are led by UO faculty who are expert in the topics. They provide formal study guides and lead college-level discussion of the materials for 10 hours of class time.
