Campus visits begin soon for UOPD chief candidates

The final candidates for the University of Oregon Police Department Chief of Police are scheduled to visit campus next week.

Each finalist will give a virtual presentation on “Public safety and community policing: How do you build trust, legitimacy, and accountability within a university campus environment?” The presentations are open to campus. They will be livestreamed and include a live Q&A period.

Presentation Schedule:

Candidate 1: Monday, May 9, 3:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m.
Candidate 2: Thursday, May 12, 3:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m.

Candidate information and presentation livestream links will be posted on the UOPD website.

Community members are encouraged to submit feedback on the candidates through an online survey that will be posted on the UOPD website. Surveys will open after each candidate’s presentation and will close at noon Monday, May 16.
