Collective bargaining: Updates on employee union negotiations

The University of Oregon is in active negotiations with employee unions to reach new collective bargaining agreements. The following updates are offered to keep the campus community informed:

Service Employee International Union: SEIU and Oregon’s seven public universities did not reach agreement on a new contract for SEIU employees during mediation sessions Sept. 11-13. SEIU has notified their membership that they plan to strike on Sept. 30. The next mediation session is scheduled for Sept. 23-24 at Portland State University.

Graduate Teaching Fellows Federation: The University of Oregon and the GTFF had a mediation session on Sept. 16. An agreement has not been reached and bargaining will continue. An update on the latest mediation session will post on the human resources website this week. The HR website also provides economic offers and proposal comparisons.

United Academics: Bargaining with United Academics opens in January 2020.

University of Oregon Police Association: Bargaining with UOPA opens in January 2020.
