Congratulate Laura Lacasa – this week's scavenger hunt winner

Laura Lacasa, an information technology consultant at the University of Oregon's Financial Aid and Scholarships office, got winter term off to a good start – her number was drawn in today's AroundtheO scavenger hunt contest and she wins a $100 gift card to The Duck Store.

Lacasa is the fourth major prize winner in the contest, which began in November. Charlotte Wise of the UO's Neuroinformatics Center and Joyce Nims of the College of Education have also won Duck Store gift cards; and Amy Lake, who works in the UO Libraries warehouse, won an iPad.

The contest, co-sponsored by The Duck Store, is part of a launch promotion for AroundtheO – the UO's new website for faculty and staff news. It is intended to remind you to make AroundtheO your homepage – and your go-to source for UO news and information.

One more iPad will be given away later this month; 10 stainless steel AroundtheO travel mugs will be the prizes for next week's contest winners. The contest will continue through January.

Working from a list of 382 correct responses received in this week's five daily contests, an online random number generator picked one number – 230 – between zero and 382. That was where Lacasa's contest response from Tuesday, Jan. 8, wound up on this week's list of eligible responses.

Lacasa submitted correct responses to three daily contest questions this week, so had three chances to win.

The AroundtheO scavenger hunt rewards careful reading – each daily question has its answer somewhere in the text of the five stories most recently posted to AroundtheO.

The questions are posted on the AroundtheO Twitter feed each morning. The feed (https://twitter.com/aroundO), can also be viewed in the right-hand column of the AroundtheO website.

Find the correct answer to the question of the day and e-mail it (subject line: SCAVENGER HUNT ANSWER) before noon to around@uoregon.edu.
