Convocation to mark the start of the academic year

The University of Oregon’s annual convocation ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at Matthew Knight Arena.

The event celebrates the beginning of the academic careers of those attending UO for the first time. Students and their families, faculty members and staff are invited to attend.

The ceremony will include keynote addresses from psychology professor Caitlin Fausey and student Emily Niebergall, a message from President Michael H. Schill and a video highlighting research and academics at UO.

Any member of the UO community who has a bachelor’s degree or higher is invited to wear academic regalia.

The university’s clear bag policy will apply during the event. Visit goducks.com/clearbag to learn more about the policy and permitted bags.
