COVID-19 UPDATE: Face coverings policy in effect

Here is the current information related to university operations and programs. The latest information is available on the UO Coronavirus webpage and FAQ page.

REMINDERS:

  • In accordance with Oregon Health Authority guidelines, effective today, face coverings are required for faculty, staff, students, visitors, and vendors inside buildings owned and operated by UO. The UO will make face coverings available to those who need them, and individuals may choose to wear their own personal face coverings. Accommodations and exemptions will be made where necessary and coverings are not needed if working alone in an office or room.
  • The Oregon Health Authority last week issued new guidance for the conduct of in-person instructional, residential, and research activities at Oregon colleges and universities. Institutions have flexibility to determine how and when students return, based on local circumstances and regional readiness, provided they meet the minimum public health requirements. The university is continuing to plan for a responsible and safe return to in-person, on-campus instruction, in compliance and coordination with federal, state, and local orders and guidance. Visit Return to Campus for more information on planning for fall term.
  • The fall class schedule and priority registration information for students was made available on June 1. Students received an email providing details about when they can register for fall term and encouraging them to contact their academic advisors.
  • Posters and signs to promote safe distancing and other healthy reminders have been created as a resource for university departments in preparation for a safe return to in-person activities on campus this fall. The signs are available for digital download in print and screen resolutions.
