COVID-19 UPDATE: Latest news and campus announcements

Here is the current information related to university operations and programs. The latest information is available on the UO Coronavirus webpage and FAQ page.

NEW:

  • In accordance with Oregon Health Authority guidelines, effective June 15, face coverings will be required for faculty, staff, students, visitors, and vendors inside buildings owned and operated by UO. The UO will make face coverings available to those who need them, and individuals may choose to wear their own personal face coverings. Accommodations and exemptions will be made where necessary and coverings are not needed if working alone in an office or room.
  • The Division of Global Engagement is offering a live sneak peek tomorrow of a #NoPassportNeeded experience with one of the faculty members from London, UK: Andrew Whitehead. Within our new realities, UO students can still develop a deep connection to the people and places traditionally accessible through travel-based global education. Attend the virtual demo tomorrow, June 12, at 11:00 a.m. PDT.

REMINDERS:

  • Gov. Kate Brown’s Executive Order restricting on-campus operations in higher education is set to expire on June 15. The university plans to pursue a slow and methodical return to on-campus functions, as André Le Duc, UO’s Chief Resilience Officer, recently outlined.
  • The Finals Week Teaching Update from the Provost Faculty and GE Support Group offers strategies for supporting students during this final week of the term and assistance using Canvas to grade and moderate exams and finalize grades
