COVID-19 Update
January 14, 2021  •   coronavirus.uoregon.edu

What You Need to Know

  • UO MAP testing this week is focused on students living in residence halls. Test appointments were to be scheduled through the housing portal; instructions were sent to residence hall students by email. Broader testing for off-campus students, faculty, staff, and Lane County residents will resume January 20. See this registration page to reserve an appointment.
  • The UO continues to work with public health agencies to coordinate vaccination efforts. Information will be provided as soon as it is confirmed. Updates will be posted to the coronavirus page.
Tip of the Week: Dry indoor air helps COVID-19 spread
Continue to keep a 6-foot distance from others this winter, especially inside.

Featured FAQ

How do I know if I’ve been exposed to a positive case on campus?
Detailed information about COVID-19 cases in the UO community is available online on the UO case tracking page. This includes information on UO employees who have been on campus during their period of transmissibility. Each employee case report includes the building where the person works, to ensure others working in that facility are made aware. Upon notification of an employee’s positive status, UO Human Resources conducts workplace contact tracing and notifies any other employee determined to be a close contact and informed of the expectation to quarantine.

Reminders

  • Mask up! The UO requires everyone—faculty, staff, students, visitors, and vendors—to use face coverings across all UO locations. Face coverings are also required in outdoor public spaces on campus, and we recommend that individuals wear face masks when alone in a space. Check out our full face-covering requirements and a quick how-to video on our regulations page.
  • The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to the virus. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention outline some general precautions to minimize the spread of respiratory diseases.
