What You Need to Know

Free student vaccine and Dutch Bros gift card: The University of Oregon is holding a COVID-19 vaccine clinic for UO students. This clinic takes place Thursday, May 27, from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. in Matthew Knight Arena. This one-day clinic will offer the single-dose Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine and a free Dutch Bros $5 gift card. You are required to schedule an appointment prior to arriving for your vaccination. See full details.
Masks not required outdoors: Following new guidance from the Oregon Health Authority, face coverings are no longer required outdoors on campus. Masks are still required indoors on UO property unless alone in a room. It is strongly recommended that individuals who are not fully vaccinated or at risk for severe COVID-19 disease continue to wear a mask, face covering, or face shield when outdoors in crowded areas or large gatherings, and maintain physical distancing. Under this new guidance, the UO can still require face coverings for outdoor events where large crowds are expected.
Testing after contact update: The UO's MAP testing program now offers COVID-19 testing for asymptomatic people who are known contacts with potential or confirmed positive cases. However, if you are feeling ill or showing symptoms, do not get tested through MAP, but do contact your health care provider.

Free testing: The UO's Monitoring and Assessment Program (MAP) offers free asymptomatic COVID-19 testing the week of May 24 at Matthew Knight Arena and McArthur Court. Pre-registration is encouraged, walk-ins are accepted.
Prevention: The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to the virus. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention outline some general precautions to minimize the spread of respiratory diseases.
