Travel policy: The University of Oregon has lifted the suspension of UO business travel except to countries listed by the CDC as Level 4 “Very High Risk” or “Risk Unknown” for COVID-19. Travel approvals for all other countries will return to the normal process. More information about approvals and exemptions are available on the Business Affairs travel webpage.
Summer safety guidance: The UO is maintaining most of its safety precautions for the time being. University leadership made this decision after considering feedback from employee groups and other stakeholders. The university will continue to assess and may adjust safety requirements as the resumption of in-person instruction and activities this fall approaches.
COVID-19 Cases
UO: There were no members of the UO community who tested positive or were considered presumptive positive in the past seven days (June 29–July 5).
Saliva-based testing: The UO’s Monitoring and Assessment Program (MAP) COVID-19 testing program has moved from nasal swab testing to using saliva samples, which can be processed at a fraction of the cost of a nasal swab. Individuals should not eat or drink for 30 minutes prior to their saliva test. Testing days and times vary; check weekly schedules online.
Moving back onto campus? Don't forget you'll need a parking permit. Daily and monthly parking permits are available through the end of August through Transportation Services. Metered parking is also available in some locations. As a reminder, a new zonal parking system will launch in August.
Prevention: The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to the virus. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention outline some general precautions to minimize the spread of respiratory diseases.
