COVID-19 Update: Positive test results in UO community

Here is the current information related to university operations and programs. For the latest information, review the UO's COVID-19 information and our COVID-19-related FAQs.

NEW:

  • An additional nine University of Oregon students are determined to be positive COVID-19 cases in Eugene, for a total of 22 cases. All students are recovering in isolation. Public health officials are conducting contact tracing and monitoring for individuals associated with these positive cases. The University of Oregon is providing information about positive COVID-19 test results for students and employees within the UO community.
  • Due to this cluster of cases in the Eugene-Springfield area of college-age individuals, it is critical that everyone wear masks in public, keep social gatherings small, and avoid gatherings where physical distancing and face covering guidelines are not being followed. Wash your hands often, put at least six feet of distance between yourself and others outside your home, and cover your mouth and nose with a cloth face cover when around others.

REMINDERS:

  • The university has approved a new self-check health regulation which outlines that students and employees should conduct a self-check daily and not come to campus if they are experiencing or have experienced any COVID-19 symptoms in the previous 72 hours. Additional information will be provided about implementation and procedures of this requirement as they are developed.
