COVID-19 UPDATE: Thanksgiving reminder

Here is the current information related to university operations and programs. The latest information is available on the UO Coronavirus webpage and FAQ page.

REMINDERS:

  • Students planning their return to Eugene this fall should note that the UO anticipates ending in-person classes after Week 9, just before Thanksgiving, in an effort to reduce our community’s travel and exposure during the busy holiday period. Week 10 will be fully remote, as will final examinations. Residence halls and dining options will remain available to students until the end of term.
  • The deadline for student housing cancellations and requests for exemptions to the live-on requirement have been extended until September 1, 2020. Find out more about the steps Housing is taking to ensure students have a safe and positive living experience this fall.
  • The university has launched relief fund to provide financial assistance to employees facing unforeseen expenses during the pandemic.

You can reduce your risk of contracting COVID-19 by limiting the number of people with whom you are in close contact. Take the following precautions:

  • Keep groups small and limited to only people you know.
  • Wear masks or cloth face coverings.
  • Remember that exposure is defined as being within six feet of another for 15 minutes.
  • Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer after touching common surfaces.
  • Don’t share drinks, vapes, or utensils.
