Curt Lind to retire this year

After more than 35 years of service to the UO, Curt Lind, currently the Director of Academic Extension, is retiring.

Lind’s most recent accomplishment has been providing critical leadership during the reorganization of Distance Education and other units and services within Academic Extension. In addition to guiding the development of the unit, Lind contributed to its administrative and financial stability.

Lind is also the Executive Director of the Applied Information Management (AIM) Program , a multidisciplinary program for graduate students.

Doug Blandy, Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, says, “Prior to assuming my current position, I had the good fortune to work with Curt Lind in my capacities as program director and associate dean in the School of Architecture and Allied Arts. Through the good work of Curt and his staff, Architecture and Allied Arts was able to advance its mission to educate matriculating and non-matriculating students in a variety of ways. The pedagogical innovations resulting from this connection with Academic Extension are significant.”

Lind will remain in his position through June.  The UO plans a national search for a new Academic Extension director, and Russ Tomlin will chair the search committee.
