DAILY CAMPUS UPDATE: Latest news and campus announcements

Here is the current information related to university operations and programs. The latest information is available on the UO Coronavirus webpage and FAQ page.

  • The university will hold a virtual town hall for students and their families to answer questions about remote education, student support, and how the UO is protecting campus and the community during the COVID-19 outbreak. The event will be livestreamed from 2:30 – 4:00 p.m. on Monday, March 30 and can be viewed on this webpage. You may submit a question ahead of time anonymously using this web form.
     
  • Students received an email today announcing the university will not charge the Student Union or Student Recreation Center student fees for spring term. Students will also receive a credit for certain course fees for material not used or field trips not taken. In addition, the university has also suspended any interest or billing charges on unpaid student account balances for April, May, and June 2020.
     
  • As a reminder, Governor Kate Brown has called on Oregon residents to stay home to stay safe. The UO will offer remote education and has suspended all non-critical on-campus operations. Students who live off campus and are not currently in Eugene should not return until the governor’s executive order is lifted. The university has updated the FAQs page with additional information for students who need to collect their belongings from the residences halls or have questions about University Housing.
     
  • The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases increased to 266 in Oregonincluding six in Lane County.
     
  • The university continues to work in close coordination with the Oregon Health Authority and our companion institutions and agencies.
