Duck employees and families offered storm relief on campus

The week's storm has been stressful for everyone on campus and has left hundreds of employees without power at home. The following University of Oregon programs have come up with ways to support employees and their families:

The Student Recreation Center is offering free showers and towel service to UO employees and their families between March 1 and 11; just bring UO ID. The Rec Center is also hosting a free family weekend March 2-3, where the entire Rec Center is free for UO student and employee families to enjoy all the amenities, including swimming, rock climbing, basketball, weights, exercise machines, badminton and more. The Rec Center's web site lists full services and hours. Adult supervision is required for children. The best places to park are University Street between 18th and 15th avenues, Lot 29A south of the Erb Memorial Union and Lot 30 behind McArthur Court. Remember that 15th Avenue is closed between Agate Street and Onyx Street.

UO acrobatics and tumbling, ranked No. 2 in the nation, hosts top-ranked Baylor on Sunday, March 3, at 4 p.m. at Matthew Knight Arena, and UO employees can get up to four free tickets by creating or logging into a UO AccountManager account with Duck ID and the code SNOWDAY to claim tickets.

Finally, the Erb Memorial Union reminds employees that the EMU is a dry, warm, safe spot with TVs, a cozy fireplace and plenty of spots to grab snacks or charge up devices. The EMU is open Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-1 a.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m.-1 a.m. and Sundays 10 a.m.-1 a.m.

The UO Employee Assistance Program, through Cascade Centers, Inc., offers confidential counseling and support services to benefit-eligible employees during times of difficulty. To access employee assistance services, visit the HR webpage or the Cascade Centers website. Benefit-eligible employees have access to services 24 hours a day, seven days a week through a telephone hotline or the website.
