Lots of Ducks choose to get around by foot, bike, bus or carpool, but over the next two weeks, they can win prizes for their efforts.

The annual Drive Less Challenge runs through Sept. 30. Signing up to win is easy: Go to and start or reactivate an account, then log any qualifying trips between Sept. 16-30. Not only trips to and from work count. Any outings using something besides a single-driver vehicle can be entered.

Log at least one nondrive-alone trip — by bus, train, bike, carpool, vanpool, walk, run, etc. — in your trip calendar to be eligible to win weekly prizes, like $125 gift cards for Keen products, 16-ounce Hydro Flasks, $25 gift cards from Dutch Bros., $50 gift cards from Black Star Bags or $50 gift cards from REI.

Grand prizes include three GenZe electric bikes valued at $1,500 and three $500 cash cards. More than 55 prizes will be awarded during the challenge.

Drive Less Connect is an Oregon Department of Transportation ride-matching tool subscribed to by dozens of statewide private and public employers, including the UO. Creating a Drive Less Connect account is also the way to access the Emergency Ride Home program.
