Employees are challenged to drive less and win prizes

Oregon's Drive Less Connect program and Lane Transit District are offering up a slew of prizes for commuters who choose healthier and greener transit options during the Oregon Drive Less Challenge, Oct. 1-15.

The Oregon Drive Less Challenge is similar to the Business Commute Challenge that happens each spring but with a focus on individuals rather than workplace teams.

Weekly prizes include $100 Columbia Sportswear gift cards, 16-ounce Hydro Flasks, $25 Dutch Bros gift cards, backpacks by Dakine and Trew and $100 Black Star Bags gift cards; local prizes include Oregon Shakespeare Festival tickets, rounds of golf at Fiddler's Green, zip lining at Pumpkin Ridge Zipline and dozens of gift certificates for local restaurants and breweries.

To qualify for prizes:

  • Log in or register at DriveLessConnect.com. This site is also where to register for carpool ride-matching or the employee-only emergency ride home program.
  • Get around by any means other than single-occupant vehicle: run, walk, bike, bus, carpool or use other alternatives for work, play or errands.
  • Log all trips from Oct. 1-15 on DriveLessConnect.com.

Details are on LTD's Point2Point site. For ideas on drive less options around the University of Oregon, visit UO Parking and Transportation’s options page.
