Event on July 5 will celebrate LGBTQ people in STEM fields

The University of Oregon’s LGBT+ In STEM club is putting on the second International LGBTSTEM Day July 5 in the Willamette Hall atrium.

The celebration recognizes and honors LGBTQ people in science, technology, engineering and math, as well as promoting diversity and inclusion in those fields.

Check-in will begin at 9 a.m. followed by a workshop from the Queer Ally Coalition; a talk by Jeremy Yoder of California State University, Northridge; a time for refreshments and featured research by UO LGBTQ faculty members; and a raffle with prizes at 3 p.m.
