Calling all University of Oregon faculty and staff — burn off some steam at the 17th annual “Take a Hike” Faculty/Staff Walk and Fun Run on Thursday, May 28, from noon to 1 p.m.
In case you need an added incentive, the first 100 people to register and participate will receive a free gift. Participants will also have the chance to enter into prize giveaways, with the grand prize being a one-year membership to the newly-renovated Student Recreation Center.
The start and finish lines are on the rec center’s turf fields. For the runners, a 5k route (about 3.1 miles) will take you through the Fairmount neighborhood east of campus and over through the south campus area before finishing back on the turf. For the walkers, the course is a one-mile spin around the edge of campus.
While pre-registration is encouraged, you may also register on site the day of the event.
