Faculty members invited to virtual session to learn more about The Conversation

UO faculty members and researchers are invited to join a virtual presentation on Sept. 9 with an editor of the non-profit news organization The Conversation.

The Conversation works with scholars around the world to help them share their knowledge and expertise with the public, through research-based articles. UO faculty members have written on newsy subjects like vaccine mandates and sexual harassment law and wildfire prevention, as well as about feature articles on soap, coffee and fractal patterns.

Stories from The Conversation are frequently reprinted by major media outlets, with UO faculty authors appearing in publications like PBS NewsHour, the Chicago Tribune, Fast Company, Smithsonian Magazine, Scientific American and the Associated Press.

Faculty members from all UO departments are encouraged to attend. The presentation will occur via Zoom on from noon-1 p.m. and is hosted by the School of Law. Attendees will learn how to sign up as authors, craft a pitch and respond to requests. There will be ample time for questions.
