Freshman profile: Herminia Cruz

High school and hometown: C C. Winn High School, Eagle Pass, Texas.

My biggest academic accomplishment so far: Being named salutatorian and competing in University Interscholastic League State Academics.

My academic interests include: History and Geology, but I also have a deep passion for Theater.

What I like to do for fun: I love to read, listen to music, watch anime and TV shows and act

People might be surprised to know: that I am left-handed.

The one thing I'm most nervous about: The distance away from home.

The one thing I'm most excited about: The opportunity of taking so many different courses and meeting people from around the world.

I chose Oregon: Because of its liberal outlook and because I love its outdoors.

Scholarship I've received include: The Summit Scholarship.

When I think of Oregon: I think its beautiful landscape and features.

The one piece of rain gear I must bring to campus: An umbrella, for I have heard it tends to constantly rain, something so different from back home.

The thing about college I'm most looking forward to: Meeting people that share the drive and determination to make an impact in the world and to learn new experiences.
