Frohnmayer’s leadership the subject of Register-Guard column

The legacy of former UO President Dave Frohnmayer has consistently been observed in newspaper editorials since his passing in early March, most recently in a column from Bob Welch in the Sunday, April 5 edition of The Register-Guard.

Welch praises Frohnmayer for his long career of service to the people of Oregon, his students, his colleagues and his family. Most importantly, Welch writes, were these words of wisdom from Frohnmayer on the subject of leadership: “‘Tell me,’ he said, ‘and I’ll forget. Show me, I’ll remember. Involve me, and I’ll understand.’”

Bob Welch is a former staff columnist at The Register-Guard who also taught occasionally at the UO School of Journalism and Communication.
