Governor appoints Stamps Scholar to UO Board of Trustees

Gov. Kate Brown has appointed Clark Honors College student Will Paustian as the student representative to the Board of Trustees of the University of Oregon.

Once confirmed by the Oregon Legislature, Paustian will serve through June 30, 2017, the remainder of the term vacated by Helena Schlegel, president of the Associated Students of the University of Oregon.

Paustian is a freshman and Stamps Scholar. The Stamps Scholarship is the UO’s most prestigious and generous merit award. It is awarded to a small group of Oregon high school seniors who are academically gifted, proven leaders and involved in a variety of extracurricular and volunteer activities.

He is studying accounting, business and Chinese at the UO. He is a graduate of Central Catholic High School in Portland, where he served as class president.
