Chick, Chick, Chick, Hooray!

Mother osprey with chicks in a nest

The long-awaited hatching of the three osprey chicks has finally happened atop the Knight Law Center at the University of Oregon! Now that they are here, UO Law takes pride in tradition to name each chick. Over the past couple of weeks people have suggested names for the hatchlings through a social media campaign. Now, the general public will have the chance to vote for their favorite names.

“Naming of the chicks is something that people in the broader Eugene/Springfield community really get excited about.” said Rayna Jackson, spokesperson for the UO School of Law. “We recieved close to 50 name submissions - and they were all very creative. Now, we're eager to see what their final names will be."

Members of the public can choose their favorite names starting Tuesday, June 18 through Sunday, June 23. Names with the most votes will be given to each chick.
