HR provides position placement information to OAs

The University of Oregon’s project to create and maintain a compensation structure for officers of administration reached a major milestone July 28, when emails went out to all OAs providing notification of their positions’ placement within the new structure.

The OA compensation project is designed to help the university remain competitive in the higher education market and attract and retain talent.

“We are glad to be delivering results to OAs and think they will find it informative,” said Jamie Moffitt, vice president for finance and administration. “This collaborative effort was originally requested by the OA Council. It is exciting to reach the goal of implementing a new compensation structure.”

Nancy Resnick, chief human resources officer, said a variety of resources are available to answer questions and help OAs understand the information provided in the individual emails. Those include a position placement presentation and updated frequently asked questions and What’s New posts that provide current updates on project implementation. Resnick asked OAs who have questions to first review these resources before contacting their supervisor, the unit’s HR partner or HRclasscomp@uoregon.edu for additional assistance.

“We believe that this project represents a significant step forward and reflects the institution’s commitment to officers of administration as a valued employee group,” Resnick said. “Human resources will be providing additional resources and training to campus this fall. I’d like to thank the many OAs who collaborated to make this happen.”

Human Resources provided the following additional information about the email notifications:

  • Email notifications were sent to all OAs with an employment record in Banner as of July 1, 2016. If employees were newly hired or transferred into an OA position after July 1, they will receive a notification email this fall containing information related to position placements within the structure.
  • If an OA did not receive the notification email on July 28, then he or she should check their Outlook junk email folder and check deleted items to ensure it wasn’t filtered as spam or inadvertently deleted.
  • OAs hired prior to July 1 who did not receive an email notification are asked to contact HRClassComp@uoregon.edu.
