In a message to the campus community, Scott Coltrane, senior vice president and provost, announced that UO School of Law Dean Michael Moffitt, Philip H. Knight Chair and professor of law, has chosen to step down as dean effective July 1, 2017.

According to the memo, Moffitt will return to his faculty role, which he has held since joining the law school in 2001. Moffitt became dean in 2011.
